Any parts that stand out as great moments or really bother you?

I think the death of Han Solo will stand as one of the memorable moments of the franchise, if not movie history.

Finally saw it today with my daughter. Loved every second of it. I want to have Ray's babies. She's such a bad ass.

The moment she fought Solo Jr. and won, and was standing over him, was one of the baddest-ass moments I've seen for a female character.

I was totally nonplused by the ease which which rey seem to just master the little bag of force tricks on her own, which devalues quigon, obiwan, yoga, Jedi academy, and Luke. It sort of destroys the Jedi mystique when any force sensitive guttersnipe can beat a supposedly trained knight of ren. Or maybe Luke Skywalker was just such a aweful teacher that Kylo ren was hopeless.


It would have been better if Ren had to really work, step by step, to eventually become a Light side badass, say, by episold 9.

It sort of destroys the Jedi mystique when any force sensitive guttersnipe can beat a supposedly trained knight of ren. Or maybe Luke Skywalker was just such a aweful teacher that Kylo ren was hopeless.


It would have been better if Ren had to really work, step by step, to eventually become a Light side badass, say, by episold 9.

1) I loved that. Much more Luke-esque of her to learn it on the fly (I know Luke was trained for a second by Yoda, but that's a far cry from going through an entire academy), and to not have the stuffy Jedi etiquette always reminding her of how she's doing it wrong, a la Ep. I and II.

2) Kylo Ren was Bow Caster'd by Chewy. If you're not buying that she beat a trained Sith, you must really not like that he couldn't even kill Fin in a duel. Haha If we're knit picking, he should have been killed by Chewy's blaster.

3) Kylo was clearly nowhere near the level of a master.

I was waiting for Luke to show up the entire movie. I was emotionally preparing myself to see Han find Luke, and to see them on the screen together again. I'm bothered that we won't ever see that. I'm also bothered that we didn't get to see Chewy come to terms with Han's death. But thems the breaks.

Yeah, the Luke that was trained for a second by yoga was destroyed with ease by darth Vader.   Btw, didn't the heirloom light saber fall down into the abyss along with Luke's arm while he was being annihilated by his father?

How the hell did it end up in a box for Rey to find?

As I said a lot, I really really liked it myself. I think a lot of the complaints about unoriginality in the first order was missing the point that they're not trying to be new, they're sort of immature and are trying to be these big badasses and are trying to fill the shoes of dudes they know nothing about. Like, Kylo not being nearly badass as Vader is one instance of that. Like, he's trying to be the next great Sith Lord, the first order is trying to be the next Sith uprising, but you can't force it

As in, like, this whole group of dudes is doing everything right to be the next galactic rulers except... being the chosen ones.
Rey and Finn and them have nothing going for them except... the Force
