But, Judi, consider this: maybe you would encounter uses for advanced algebra and calculus if you were familiar with it, which you simply don't recognize.

That is indeed accurate!

I understand some people just can't stand maths. For those who can stomach it, even if it's not something they directly use in everyday life, I think it helps bring a greater understanding of the world.

Yeah, but they are right. I don't study mathematic. I study mathematics. I've amended my ways.

Lol perhaps, but that' a different word. Same meaning, but it has many more letters.
