RE: Moar Advice!
Make the choice that is best for getting through school. School is the pirze, not money.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I'd never advise anyone to do anything that could fuck with their sleep. But then again, is there really any avoiding it with age? You could do it no doubt. Good on you for considering the costs up front. [vote=Don'tDoIt]

You can probably manage it, but I would invest in ear plugs and an eye sleep mask. It'll feel weird to sleep that way for a while. Actually, instead of ear plugs, get good noise masking ear buds and play white noise. Spotify has a ton of options. The best way to accomplish it is to 'force' yourself to habitualize your sleep so that you actually want to sleep when you're supposed to as dictated by your schedule.

I got four hours of sleep each for the last 3 nights.

I'm running on coffee, sundrop, and nicotine. Imma crash and burn soon.

I paid my way through grad school working the night shift.  There were 2-3 hours every night when I was free to study.  That was helpful.
If you can dedicate day hours to sleep (the same hours, every day) and guarantee that you won't be interrupted, you'll be fine.

RE: Moar Advice!
One of the bad things about working nights is that some daywalkers can't seem to get it through their head that it's not lazy to be asleep a 2pm if you work 11 to 7. Nor is it rude to hang up on someone who call ats 4pm when they damn well know that you work a nightshift. Also the sounds of construction, traffic noise, kids playing outside, etc. Daytime is pretty damn noisy.

If you go for the promotion, you might consider purchasing blackout curtains for your bedroom. The heavier ones also muffle outside sound to some degree, and made a noticeable difference in my quality of sleep when I worked nights.

It's an awesome promotion, congrats...but those hours...ugh. It would be hard from a sleep perspective, me thinks. Maybe see how it goes, and see how it all works out? Sometimes, you have to figure things out by just taking the opportunity and experiencing it. Good luck whatever you choose!
