I don't know very much about this Scotchland place, although I've heard it might be in Wales.

Cultural appropriation. Bah.

Revolves around the notion of 'culture', an often superfluous term with little universal meaning beyond what the user of the word gives it. It can literally meaning anything dependent on the context in which it's used.

'Thug life' is as alien to me as it probably is to the OP, but if your friend wants to harbour under the delusion that he is from a 'ghetto' (itself appropriated, of course), then what's the problem? Him lying to himself affects nobody else whatsoever.

Actually, my wife is something like 1/4 Scottish and is very proud of it, her mum who is half Scottish even more so.

She tells me the educational video doesn't cover all the facts.
