Do You Feel Sorry For Rick Santorum?
Read and smile as the frothy one pouts and whines about nobody paying attention to poor, little him.

RE: Do You Feel Sorry For Rick Santorum?
He's from my state, more specifically, early on in his political career, he was from my county. I don't feel one bit sorry for him. He didn't do jack shit for his fellow citizens here. He won't do anything for this country either.

Last go round the Iowa Christers neutered Gingrich for open and notorious adultery, Santorum apparently is beyond reproach in his private conduct so they loved him.

Then.

Curiously, "this years" Christian pop morality is now completely and totally unconcerned with divorces and remarriages and (apparent) boastful and notorious conquests, so Trump is heir apparent with the Iowa Christians now.

I'm trying to make sense of this RAPID 180 degree turnabout in contemporary Christian mores, my understanding has been things that Jesus said don't change and His teachings are not subject to transitory whims and fads, so, it is confusing, confusing in the extreme.

Very, very confusing.

I was being facetious, of course. He's a vile scumbag, a true Dominionist who would turn this country into a Christian Taliban if he had the power to do so. Out of all the Republicans this guy tops my list of who I would be most horrified by if he became President.

Kind of a canary in a coal mine though.

How can the Christers support him in one election cycle and abandon him in the next ?

Did God mislead them then, or is He misleading them now ?? Had Santorum been elected, we would be looking at his re-election bid now, do we conclude he would not be supported by those same Christians that put him office, and that they would nevertheless be supporting Trump to take the reins from Santorum after just one term??

It's important to know when the Christians are wrong about something, and it's too bad they aren't more forthcoming about the vicissitudes of their faith.

Those Christians involved in secular politics have let slip a major error, we deserve an honest appraisal, assessment and explanation from their side as to what went wrong, and how we can trust them now.

Why pay attention to politics? They're all just glorified divas stating, "Pay attention to me."

Was there ever any doubt that the true motive force behind the political religious right has always been those smart enough to see Christianity as the bullshit it always was, but unscrupulous enough to use all the fools stupid enough to not see the bullshit as tools for gaining themselves political power, and from political power availe themselves wealth, status and egotistical sense of accomplishment?

Unfortunately not yet a roadkill stain behind the leading edge of the trajectory of American politics.
