You know, one clip that reminds me a lot of apparent conceptions of God's love is a scene from A Clockwork Orange, where Alex, after an attempted mutiny from his droogs, he kicked them into a canal and even slashes them a few times. After they realize who's boss, they then go to the Duke of New York as if nothing had happened.
