The fact that time isn't simply linear, as all our instincts would tell us, makes me not trust my intuition. I still struggle with the concept, as my monkey brain tries to stomp around and deny the theory involved.

I feel like we don't properly understand "time", and just can't see it from the right angle. If we did, it might make perfect sense that the past, present and future all exist somehow at the same time; or else it might make sense that there is no past and present. I can only guess, really.

I'm not conversant enough on this topic yet to know about the math or how its argued but I know that it is a problem that both philosophers and physicists write about from their own perspectives and often philosophers are drawing on physicists' theories.  I believe Hawkings discusses the concept in his A Brief History of Time too.
