anyhow, you shouldn't take everything Muslims do to be holy or revealed from God. Nobody told them to number the book and cut it into parts; as far as I know, just like nobody told them to gather the Hadith.
Though, in terms of verse numbers, I think it's good for people who wanna memorize the Quran. If the verses are numbered, memorizing is easier, and better.
Maybe you are nuts, wyrd of god. with a book this large, numbering is pretty logical. At the times of Utman, reading and writing wasnt widespread in Arabia so it's accepted to imagine, how the idea never crossed anybody's mind..
Makes me wonder,, is there a coffee flavor called muslims? since we are nuts..
