Recently my grandmother passed away she was a devout Muslim i never knew this growing up i just found out.
I really do miss her but yeah her funeral was well different we wen't in then we had to take off her shoes to see her
then the service itself wasn't even 5 minutes long then we left and buried her. There was no wake or anything
the whole thing was pretty fast considering my other grandmother she was a christian had a pretty much long
service and wake.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your grandmother, dyre. Interesting about the funeral, and also interesting that she was a devout muslim and you never knew about it. Perhaps it goes to show that people *can* keep their religions to themselves.

She was that type of person and i have other muslim family members too i found out as well they really really do not like what ISIS is doing.
They don't like people who ruin islam and do horrible acts they are peaceful. Not all muslims are bad just the ones who follow a religion a certain way
the same can be said with christians and others. Because yeah let's be honest christians have done far worst than mulslims. Either both religions are terrible
and i won't to have to do with any of them. Not going to be islam apologists just saying there are good people of every faith.

Yes, condolences. It'd be interesting to attend a brief funeral sometimes. Growing up Catholic, funeral and wakes were the next best thing to Newry market day.

Isn't there a rule that Muslims have to be buried within 24 hours?

Yep that is true the funeral itself is straight forward nothing flashy no limo or hearse he was taken via van to the
burial grounds.

It's really brief it goes by in a snap of the finger before prayer you go down to view the body men aren't allowed to touch the body the woman wrap the female.
If its male its the opposite males get to touch and wrap the body in cotton wraps then after that the family can stay down there a bit longer then the body is taken up.
Prayers are made then it's pretty much time to go bury the person or cremate them. There is the rule the persons house has to be empty for 48 hours. Also pictures
and stuff of the deceased and the coffin is not permitted.

That's one of the reasons the US put forward for bin Laden's burial at sea.
