Is it wise to think popular logic is logical ?

We may discuss.

Is it wise to post a thread with one title and then not discuss that at all in your OP? We may not discuss.

Losty,

You may think questions are a great start to discussions sometimes and explain a lot in themselves, did you not enter this discussion with only a question thinking it explained a lot ?

Do you believe The No True Scotsman Fallacy is true ?

NTS is a valid fallacy, not sure how it applies to 1 John 4:1, which warns against false prophets. Can you be clearer?

Basically in 1 John 4:1 the narrator is saying that he's the only true prophet.  He established the criteria for judging the spirits (prophets) by claiming that if they don't agree with his criteria then they are false prophets. He essentially said that all of the earlier prophets (such as Moses) mentioned in the fairy tales are false prophets because they didn't mention the Jesus character.

Aoi Magi,

You may think like from how I started this thread, in comparison to 1 John 4:1.

You may think there was no mistake from me really.

Losty,

Do you think Jesus ever talked about Moses and agreed with him and thought he was a great man of God ?

Boru,

Do you think that every person who tells you they are a Christian is really a Christian ?

Do you think 1 John 4:1 talks about testing the spirits to see if they are really from God ?

Any Christian saying bad things about Moses cannot be a true Christian Scotsman thing!

ignoramus,

What if someone said "I'm a Christian", do you think anyone should believe them after meeting them for the first time and considering 1 John 4:1 ?

Homeless Nutter,

If someone told you they are a Christian after meeting them for the first time and you had thoughts of 1 John 4:1, do you think the No True Scotsman Fallacy is true ?
