Maybe taking advice from Australia? Maybe asking Japan how they keep gun deaths down?

What is not working is our patchwork Swiss Cheese bullshit. What we need is to make less. What we need is for the makers and sellers to be more responsible to whom they sell to instead of stupidly thinking "no record at time of buy" means responsible forever.

Now I defy anyone reading this to show me anywhere in these words it says "ban all guns". Neither Australia or Japan have an all out ban on guns. But what they don't have is a blind worship of them.

I'm not being obtuse, but I think if you can't define what 'works' means and also what 'the civilized world' means, then your statement is just a broad sort of nothing statement. I mean what sort of statement are you making? That gun laws will reduce murder? That gun laws will reduce murder if the people are 'civilized' already? Just not really sure what you mean by 'works.'

What we really need is a new NRA, but for responsible gun owners who are absolutely fine with fair gun control laws.

How about the "National Organization of Responsible Gun Owners", or NORGO.

Shall I recapitulate the experiences I've had while visiting 72 country on active duty with the USN or can you fucking Google?

Well.....Australia and Japan have always had pretty low crime. You can't just point to low crime societies and say 'they have gun control and low crime so it must be the gun control that's doing it.' I don't know about Japan, but Australia's murder rate went down after their gun laws in response to the Port Aurthur massacre that happened there in the 90s. However during the same time period America's murder rate dropped even more then Australia's. Both are probably more the result of an aging populace then anything else.

So you can't just point to low crime countries have always been low crime and say 'it must be the gun control' To be convincing to me you'd have to show that gun control was the actual cause of....something at least.

Chill out. You are the one making the claim about..............something I guess. I'm not going to do your research for you when you can't tell me what you mean by 'works.' When you tell me what you are actually talking about by works then we can start having a conversation.

I'm fairly certain the number of gun massacres dropped to almost zero after gun control laws were adopted in Australia. Look at the numbers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ma..._Australia

After the gun control laws were brought in, there were still some shootings, but they killed very small amounts of victims. The highest being 5, but that was a guy killing his wife and 3 kids plus himself.

It would be nice to have a seat at the legislative table, rather than watch the issue be decided by two groups of numbskulls battling it out over something that isn't even remotely important to either of them, in truth.
