Bernie Sanders endorses Hillary Clinton for President

It's been a while coming, and not unexpected at this point.

Now let's hope she at least gives him some position in her administration so he can continue the progressive agenda he's been fighting for.

The democrats need every vote they can get in the senate right where it is.  Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, etc need to stay right where they are and they still need to flip 4 seats to regain control of the senate.  The House may be beyond reach and all the big plans may never happen because of that but they have to gain control of the senate.

I thought Bernie did a nice job ripping Trump a new asshole.

True, but Clinton also needs to win the election, and while the recent FBI finding might have spared her from prosecution, it didn't exactly sow the seeds of confidence either. Giving Sanders a position in her administration might convince enough Sanders supports to vote for her, and that would practically guarantee her the election.

Vermont is a pretty liberal state; Sander's replacement will likely be a Democrat anyway.

If he is allowed to have influence, I guess that's a good thing. Not really what I'd prefer, but good enough that I'd vote for Hillary.

Trump and his big fucking mouth should be enough to rally the democrats.

I wonder, will this bring in more Bernie voters to Clinton's side than it will turn off Clinton voters? Would Bernie's endorsement have any effect on Clinton's voters in the first place? Or is this a strictly, pure positive for Clinton?

That's kind of what I'm thinking, but even Bernie is like "Trump is the worst thing ever". I don't think he totally sold out. He just has to settle for the lesser of two evils like the rest of us.

There is no downside.
