Does this Make Sense to You?

The apple removed god's imposed neurochemical lobotomy. He got to see reality.

Source of the "an apple a day" saying.

He said it was indicative of "criticism" people levelled at the church for preventing access to knowledge and thus a metaphor for god being the 'keeper' of knowledge away from unenlightened man.

He said that he interpreted it a different way, and believed that god was protecting us from shame and guilt. That our 'nakedness' was our vulnerability as a people being manifest.

I actually thought that was a cracking explanation - but when you then have a church who have done nothing BUT ram shame and guilt down the throats of people for around 1500 years now. The church views humanity's nakedness as an excuse to pour scorn on people's vulnerabilities - when god was allegedly protecting us FROM those vulnerabilities.

Flawed logic, doesn't even begin to describe that.

You put priest in the same post with nakedness! Oh damn. Well, maybe Minimalist won't see this thread.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

So its obvious, the bible is informing man to wear clothes when eating fruit as its embarrassing to get fruit juice on your bollocks .... case closed

You really have to be in a creative position to get fruit juice on your buttocks, and I think it takes two.

Don't knock it till you've tried it!

Man wanders around blissfully naked, like a child.  Man goes into the bushes with a naked girl...gets a mouthful of something tasty, and emerges from the bush knowing something about himself and nakedness that he didn't know before.  In quicktime, god shows up to curse the man with a job and the woman with pregnancy.

So remember, kids, keep it in your pants. Once you know about it, you're accountable for it....and didn't I tell you not to do it?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Adam has just eaten the forbidden fruit and he hides from god. But he doesn’t hide because he ate the fruit. He hides because he’s naked.  Now wait a minute. He didn’t become naked after he are the fruit. God created him that way. And god knew there was something shameful about being naked so he hid the fact so Adam would not realize the truth about himself until after he had eaten the fruit.

So here is Adam trying to hide his nakedness from the god who created him naked. Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?

.... Your almost there.. Keep thinking...

So, if Adam were naked.. So was eve right?

So then what happens to young men when they see their first naked girl?

Thinking

Maybe THAT is what Adam was trying to hide.

Don't forget that Adam and Eve were unaware of good and evil until eating the fruit, and then were punished for eating the fruit. But I like your take on it, I hadn't seen it that way.

Maybe procreation didn't involve fucking back then. Maybe they did it through osmosis or something.
