What Hoops Do I Need To Jump Through To Upload Pictures.

As far as I can tell, you need to enter a URL address to upload pictures.  Not being all that computer savy, I'm not sure if I even have a URL address.  Uploading an avatar was easy enough.  Why can't it be that easy for threads or replies.  Is there any way to upload pictures without jumping through some URL hoop?

just upload your image to imgur or such service and use the url they give you.
