Threw together a batch of lentil soup:
- Sauté one minced onion, one stalk of chopped celery and two sliced carrots in olive oil.
- Add broth of choice (I used a 1-litre carton of beef broth).
- Add 1 cup of green lentils.
- Season. I used a bit of celery salt, a lot of black pepper, a bit of kosher salt, dried parsley, and oregano.
- Simmer till lentils are cooked.

Had Digiorno pizza for dinner. Macerating some candied and dried fruit in dark rum for another fruitcake.

For dinner I just had: a quarter pound of tri tip steak sautéed in olive oil = 161 calories; 100 g of tiny new potatoes rolled in olive oil & baked = 125 calories; steamed asparagus = 20 calories; 3 fl oz of red wine = 73 calories; on piece of Mikawaya Mochi Mango Ice Cream dessert = 100 calories .. for a grand total of 479 calories. That completes my consumption of calories for the day with an overall total of 1853 calories if the 1910 I'm allotted if I hope to lose two pounds this week. (I do.)

Good luck, Whatevs. Oddly enough, I thawed a nice tri-tip roast overnight, and I'll be grilling it tomorrow evening -- marinate it in beer and Worcestershire, black pepper and garlic powder.
Right now, I'm making breakfast: toasted muffin sandwiches of bacon, egg, cheese, and grilled chicken, to be washed down with coffee and milk.

It's mostly sugar and water so I'm gonna go with no.

Made fried rice tonight. Added an entire bunch of green onions, the meat from 4 chicken thighs, half a bag of shrimp, and a pork tenderloin.

A hot toddy sounds like a very good idea right now. I don't think I've fully warmed up since I left the office at 4 this afternoon.
My recipe for a hot drink involves a couple of spoonfuls of brown sugar plus cinnamon, cloves and other spices, and about a tablespoon of butter if using it (often I don't bother), blended in a mug with boiling water. I then add the alcohol, give it a taste, and adjust the sweetener if necessary.
