I don't condone what he has done, but drugs are a major problem and something has to be done, just not in the way he is doing it.

You got less of a problem if you legalize softer drugs such as pot. You would get less of a problem if you legalized all drugs for that matter. The drug problem is on the same lines as the prohibition problem in the USA of old. As long as there's tons of money to be made by running them illegaly, there will be a lot of crime. Not everyone would suddenly inject themselves with heroin if it was legal. But the ones doing it could do it legally, in a controlled and clean environment, using clean stuff, with prizes not being over the top. Which by the way would also reduce illegla prostitution and procurement crimes.

We have all sorts of legal drugs. It's only that the legal drugs are supported by major industries and their lobbies.

You could say the same damn thing about alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, pornography, and guns.  I'd even throw in cell phones with the amount of mindless zombie drones I see walking the street staring a their screens.   Ole Rodrigo likes to make a point and kill off the drug users, but he sure can't keep his nations epidemic human trafficking under control.  At least the 13 year old boys and girls aren't being sold to drug users.  That would be terrible.

President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte has lambasted the United Nations and threatened to pull out of the organisation after its criticism of his anti-drugs policies.

Police chiefs have admitted they are responsible for the deaths of some 600 drugs suspects since July, with local media suggesting the true number could easily be more than 1,000 when vigilante killings are taken into account.

Last week, two UN human rights experts urged Manila to stop the killings, saying they amounted to a crime under international law.

President Duterte has denied the government is responsible.

And here's what he has to say about the UN

'Maybe we'll just have to decide to separate from the United Nations. If you are that disrespectful, son of a whore, then I will just leave you," the president added.

The riled up leader suggested he could create a new global organisation.

"I would invite everybody. I would invite maybe China, the African (nations)," said President Duterte.

When asked about the possible repercussions of his comments, he said: "What is ... repercussions? I don't give a s*** to them."

Let him invite Drumpf, too. All the assholes should be in one place.

A mayor jailed on drug charges has been shot dead in his cell after a reported gun battle with police in the Philippines.

Rolando Espinosa and fellow inmate Raul Yap apparently opened fire as officers looked for firearms and illegal drugs during a raid.

The mayor of Albuera in Leyte is the second local government executive on President Rodrigo Duterte's so-called "narco-list" killed during police operations.

Samsudin Dimaukom, a powerful mayor in Mr Duterte's home province of Mindanao, died along with nine of his guards in a shootout in October.

In the latest incident, a team from the criminal investigation and detection group had gone to issue a search warrant against the detainees.

So the UN  gives a fuck when the philippine president kills  it's own people while in regards has Saudi on the Human rights panel in the UN when Saudi has the worse
human rights record than that guy.
