That's it. I do not understand why Trump ignorance and a scandal comes and goes in a day while Clinton scandal hangs on for months and months. The Clinton Foundation is a real charity with significant Clinton funding. It does not appear to support the Clinton's personally. The Clinton's do not claim contributions by the foundation as their own personal charity.

The Trump Foundation has contributed to political causes and had to pay the fines for that. Trump hasn't contributed to it in years. Yet he claims Trump Foundation contributions as his own regularly.

Donators to the Clinton Foundation who would have had access to The Secretary of State ordinarily got access as did those who did not donate. Florida Attorney General Bondi received an illegal disgused $25,000 political contribution three days before she terminated investigation of Trump U. The situations are not even in the same league. Yet I'm still reading more about Clinton Foundation.

There are too many Drumpf scandals to keep up with.  Remember, his supporters are morons with short attention spans.

It is the press that appears to have the short attention span.

They all want to break the big story.  Drumpf provides enough ammunition to keep them going.

The Trump Foundation  has contributed to political causes and had to pay the fines for that. Trump hasn't contributed to it in years. Yet he claims Trump Foundation contributions as his own regularly.

The reason why Trump gets it so easy is because the media don't want to kill the race too early. If all that were out on national media his campaign would be dead in the water.

There are two reasons for this, a) the media is right-wing. Most outlets are owned by rich old white men, who have a vested interest in keeping the republitards in power (they're less likely to look for the rich man to pay his taxes) and b) (a point also dictated by the rich old white men owners) media today don't do investigative journalism as it costs money. Far cheaper and easier to keep Donald alive in the election by going easy on him, as the election will generate news without networks having to spend money, rather than looking at something important but costly like, say, what is it in US police culture that makes it so easy for cops to kill unarmed black and less often white men, and why is the justice system so skewed that these murderers in uniform get off scott free.

I reckon most of the media will actually start turning on Trump in a big way, i.e. "revealing" all his illegalities and bankruptcies, some time in late September, early October, because most media owners would rather Clinton in the White House than Trump. They'd rather have a 30% chance of paying more taxes over a 90% chance of economic and military meltdown. If the republitard were half way competent the scandals would be permanently buried, like what they did with Shrub's gross dereliction of duty during his time in the Texas air national guard when he was hiding scared from the big bad Vietcong.

And of course we expect someone running for president to be adept at dodging questions and never admitting they don't know something, so it was disconcerting to hear him admit it. I'm sure the major party candidates would have been disqualified (probably excused themselves in realization that they are not actually qualified for the office) if they made such a gaffe.

I did think it was amusing that the NYT article that described the incident said Aleppo is the de facto capital of the Islamic State.

Johnson isn't running to win, despite what he'll probably say. He's running to get publicity and push the libertarian agenda. So I doubt that he really spends (or needs to spend) much time studying foreign policy. Plus when your foreign policy amounts to "Bring the troops home and stop messing around with other countries" and that's your answer to all foreign policy questions, you don't need to know the specifics about Aleppo.

It amounts to a bit more than not knowing 'the specifics about Aleppo'. This is a city that is - at one and the same time - the chief battleground of a civil war that's be going on for five years, and the epicentre of the WORST refugee crisis in the world today. To answer 'What is Aleppo' indicates a disdain for both world politics and the daily news that should have Johnson supporters fleeing like hares from a lurcher.
