RE: Anime Club
DBZ was clearly supposed end with the Frieza saga. I don't care if there's no evidence to support that and I don't care if mangas carried on after Frieza; my 10 year old self knew this shit, it was the natural conclusion to the story.
But no, that battle on Namek between what we're lead to believe are the two most powerful fighters in the universe, where lead characters die and the two of them fight for like 20 episodes and blow up the entire fucking planet? Turns out they were total pussies. And with each new season they become even bigger pussies by comparison to whichever 'most powerful asshole in the universe' they're fighting that week.

"Oh, Goku turned Super Saiyan? Big fucking deal, we got like two six-year-olds here who can do the same thing."

I watched Sword Art Online with some interest, up until all the fairies showed up.

Also I watched Akira a few times.

That's the extent of my anime knowledge.

Don't worry about it, we will expand your horizons on the wonderful world of anime. I purchased my first Japanese tea set today, my first batch turned out pretty good. The quality surpasses all of the English and American tea's I've tried.

Don't know much about anime, but I do pick up on the best loved through osmosis. Berserk seems violent, depressing and generally horrifying, so I'd probably like it.

So what are your favorite anime shows? My top 5 (in no particular order) are:

Chihayafuru
Cowboy Bebop
Nana
Charlotte
Higurashi

I'd definitely recommend all of those to anyone who hasn't seen them.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

The thing with Berserk is you have to read the manga's, they cut a lot out it from them to pass the censors in Japan. The anime is hands down bloody and down right vial, the amount of blood shed is amazing. It's sometimes difficult to find the original uncensored versions, you will also need to watch the older ones first; the reboot does not do it justice.
