When you say superpowers, the Soviets were not imperialist like the United States is. They supported revolution; the overthrow of corrupt dictators, in particular the goons installed by the CIA.

I hoped my statement would be interpreted as the Soviet Union hasn't been as imperialistic as the United States. That's what I meant to say anyway. They have done some quite retched things (such as Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact). In terms of leaders overthrown/assassinated I'm pretty sure the United States is number one.

As for the most uninformed statement ever? The must be somebody who has come on our forum and claimed Muhammad split the moon. Surely?

I guess everyone understood you just fine. It only doesn't compute with reality. Starting in '39 with the Hitler/Stalin pact and the Baltic states, apart from the East of Poland. A region they kept for themselves after the war to simply move the whole of Poland to the west. Thereby also swallowing parts of Germany. The attempt on Finland in '39/'40. The obvious after effects on Eastern Europe after 1945. The numerous deputy wars in the ensuing decades.

As far as the USSR not being so imperialistic, perhaps you could look at Nasser's Egypt, Assad the Elder's Syria, or, say, Eastern Europe, maybe the disenchanted Chinese ... would you like me to go on?

Whilst reporting about salafisme in the 93 of Paris, a group of young people made up of salafistes and drug dealers wanted to say hello whilst the reporter was doing an interview. Just a bunch of no good hoodlums who think they own the streets. Assholes of the highest order.
