Understand now?

His emotionality and religiosity and obtuseness will repress his understanding even if intellectually he comes to understand (which he probably won't because he's dumb as shit)... so even if he did come to understand he'd deceive himself and deny it.

You're not going to get Huggy to admit he's wrong here in a million years.

You probably know that already though, hehe.

An inability to admit when you're mistaken is a true testament to your character.

For the particularly weak among us, admitting your're wrong is worse than actually being wrong.

Interesting.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.

It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.

Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll

The theist`s lack of knowledge of scripture is always disappointing. You expect it with scientific subjects but this should be home ground for them...

Agreed, but admitting wrong is a struggle for both theists and atheists, myself included especially.

Interestingly, I've never met a theist who as ever admitted to me even that it is even possible that they are wrong about the existence of god, much less admitted that they actually were wrong.
Have you ever noticed all the drug commercials on TV lately?  Why is it the side effects never include penile enlargement or super powers?
Side effects may include super powers or enlarged penis which may become permanent with continued use.  Stop taking Killatol immediately and consult your doctor if you experience penis enlargement of more than 3 inches, laser vision, superhuman strength, invulnerability, the ability to explode heads with your mind or time travel.  Killatoll is not for everyone, especially those who already have convertibles or vehicles of ridiculous size to supplement penis size.

Fair enough. I think it can be difficult at times for anyone to admit when they're wrong, but it's definitely a good life skill to learn. It's something I have sort of forced myself to learn as I've grown up because I come from a family where no one ever likes admitting they're wrong. And as I've gotten older, seeing my parents who are in their 40s and 50s and my grandparents who are in their 60s and 70s REFUSE to admit when they're mistaken is, quite honestly, sad. And I really don't want to be that 40 or 50 year old guy who's so stuck in his ways that he refuses to even learn anything new. That's just insane.

Failing to admit when you're mistaken is worse than being mistaken in my opinion.

I can probably say the same. The theist usually never extends an olive branch yet always expects one to be extended in their direction.

Meh, it's simple to do.  Huggy, roll that beautiful bean footage. Tongue

I sometimes imagine that he might learn something by constantly admiring it....but then i remember that no amount of wishful thinkng on my part will make him anything other than what he is. A shameless liar for christ. It's not even an issue of admitting the possibility that he's wrong. You think he doesn't know, when he claims some ridiculous shit about natives not "needing antibiotics" for example..that he's wrong?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Haven't peeked in here since demanding supernatural evidence for the natural world. I don't suppose any has been forthcoming? Therefore I am withdrawing from your putative natural world, assuming a fetal position and staring into the abyss until further notice. That is all.

The very best thing about admitting that you're wrong: After you've done so, you can start being right.
