I for example, don't understand Buddhism with its meditation, nirvana, "no self" mind set(no attachment), it looks f boring to me.

And?

If people get strongly attached to the flavour of peaceful religion they like, I think its ok, even if its irrational to call other flavors "wrong", the same way its irrational to call monarchy stupid, especially when political parties around the world fail.

I would say much the same about atheist.

Deflection by reflection doesn't work. Just noting a fact.

What? Please try and avoid random tu-quoques. You've been doing less lately, but I see you're still prone to them.

I have no idea what you mean, and even if I did, it's not a defence against my statement. It's a cry of "you too!"

Atheists are not a hivemind.

Oh, come on! All red-heads are hot tempered. All white people can't jump. All black people are crack dealers. All short people are hobbits. One common characteristic is sufficient to define a group. I'm surprised you didn't know this already.  Cool

No... and neither are Christians (hivemind),   but I do see a lot of indoctrination and group think here.

For one, tu-quoques is often charged, when I only made a comment or observation.  I'm am not trying to invalidate your claim, by saying "you too".

However I would revise my statement.  There are a number of methods, that I see used here, which I don't think are valid, and that those methods aren't applied to their own beliefs, or given reason or justified.   There seems to be a lot of special rules, that only apply to special cases and seem only there to validate an a priori rule based system, not a methodological one.

This was one of the first things that made me question Catholicism, and then Christianity

I should have qualified my statement by saying "many religious people". I didn't mean to suggest everyone does it.

It's not my problem if people use flawed methods, and the fact that they are atheist is irrelevant if so. I'll call out anyone for a flawed method.

You see indoctrination here? What on Earth are you even talking about? I think you're overplaying your hand.

I revise my statement as above. I'm careful not to generalise, and I slipped there.

And as I said, I don't claim atheists don't also used flawed methods. So I don't know what the point of the comment was.

I would love to hear how you indoctrinate someone into atheism. It's really not necessary. All you generally have to do is not indoctrinate them into a theistic mindset.
