Man, for a second there I thought this was a really late Reagan appreciation thread.

Just teasin' ya, Losty.  Big Grin

After a few years of Trump, we might really miss Reagan.

<Kneels and reverently places hand on The Road to Serfdom>

"Oh, Saint Reagan, guide us from this, our hour of distress, to a new morning in America! Let your blessings trickle down on us poor underserving wretches! Tear down this wall!"

<Falls miserably on face, arms outstretched, wailing pitifully>

"Come back, Dan Quayle! Potatoe wasn't that stupid. All is forgiven! George W. -- where are you?!?"

<Curls into fetal position. Stares vacantly and begins chanting>

"Trickydicktrickydicktrickydicktrickydicktrickydicktrickydicktrickydicktrickydick . . ."

I'll never miss that sonofabitch, and Trump would have to work at it to be 1/2 as bad.

Fuck Reagan, imagining his eternal fucking agonizing torments in hell barely sates my desire that he realize just how fucking bad he fucked up.

Why wait? This is the internet age. We can start that ball rolling right now.

Latest rumor: Obama shot Vince Foster.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Policies and (potential) scandals aside, I think it is inarguable that Mr. Obama has been one of the most thoughtful, compassionate, and above all adult people ever to hold his office. He may or may not have been a particularly effective President (time will tell), but I don't think there can be a rational doubt that he's a fine person. Which is, in the long run, more important.

Seeing as you belong to a minority Trump's minions will most certainly target, I don't think he would have to work all that hard. Same as I said about Nixon. Reagan was an ass, but he also was a Hollywood actor and attacking gays wasn't high on his agenda. There's his daughter's narrative about him being not at all at odds with Rock Hudson and what he knew about him. He also brought up an atheist son withouf breaking ties with him. That's at least two over Cheney. With Trump and the people he selected so far, things may look very differently.
