I agree. The very idea that God gets upset by certain things is ridiculous. It makes him sound like a toddler who we're trying to stop having a tantrum.

The old religions carry the attitudes and bigotry of the people who wrote them. People are scared of those who are different. They still are, it's just we've moved on a bit in general and openly bashing people has become less acceptable.

Religion is totally absurd. God gave us a brain, then wants us to turn it off and just do what some book says. Really? If he wanted automatons he should have made them.

To me, religion is a set of fake beliefs that stop you from living life to the fullest. 'that's a sin', you have to pray, and all that crap.

In every religion, why is Homosexuality a sin? Why are things like sex before marriage, masturbation, and the like, consider sins? If god (who I believe in), is all forgiving, why create hell? Wait! If god loves everybody, then why is there such thing as hell anyway?

Most of these 'sins' you are referring to are outlined in a particular religion's holy book; and are also commandments, or rules of thumb, of that religions deity - which you claim to believe in...unless you've made up your own god.

If 'religion was real' then why are there only one? Why to people keep saying that the US is a christian country? Why do some Muslims (won't bash as my family are Muslims) kill in the name of religion?

People try to force people to 'choose a religion', people try to make and/or add laws that oppose of something they believe is a sin.

This is what happens when you have a poorly conceived and strangely non-evident entity. It will be open to interpretation, and have multiple variants depending on a person's, or group of people's, worldview.

It sounds like you just want to believe in a god, but not adhere to it's rules. You want a free pass.

RE: Why I don't believe in religion
God allows tsunamis, earthquakes, epidemics and so on. Theists, were accurate when philosophically they looked at all this misery around them and made a conclusion, that if God(almighty who is controlling this place) exist, then he is very unpleasant character, for lettings those things happen.

Then, I think, we have to answer a question "What is the point of Gods existence for us?". And the popular answer is "Heaven...".

Na11, I don't see a point in you position of "God exists". But whats next?

Hey Na11, in your "Religious views" section it says "I think god is real". Maybe you can tell us what you think god is. That might stop some of the guessing.

You mean like a toddler that can create any reality he wants, and know exactly how that reality is going to turn out, and knows exactly what is going to upset him/her, but then makes an upsetting reality anyway because he's mysterious like that? Then after not getting what he wants, decides to blame his creation for upsetting him?

Hey, Na2! I think you may have it back to front...
Religion IS real whether we like it or not, we still have to acknowledge it's existence ... irrespective of whether you agree or disagree with said teachings.

{ignoramus whispers .... pssst...can you keep a secret? It's the other bit that's not real .... sorry to break it to you kid,,}

Hell is simply the absence of love and goodness in one's heart. Since we are made for love and ultimately won't feel fulfilled without it, choosing to reject it for our own pride and selfishness will ultimately bring us nothing but misery and emptiness when we leave this life and don't have material things to distract us. You think love created the universe?
