Another Royal Baby on the way

RE: Another Royal Baby on the way
I do . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The problem with the royal family is that in order to oust them you'd have to play a dick move to do it.

Harry for instance is a fucking legend. I think practically everyone loves him. However I do not like the royal family as a thing. Individual members though, they're humans aren't they? Some of them are probably alright.

I'd like to see it gone, but in order to do so we'd have to literally violate their rights to achieve it I think. Unless it gets to a point where the royal family voluntarily gives up their privilege and status, someone's going to have to take it from them.

I wouldn't call exceptional privilege and status a right.

No, but is it your right to take it from them?

Yeah, I can agree with that.  I'd much prefer people just stop giving a shit about them, though I suppose that's hard if your country's biggest celebrity family and (apparent) head of state, church, and armed forces are the same bunch of folks.

It'd be far easier if the royal family just gave up their 'authority' on their own, but I'm honestly not sure how I'd feel about a parliamentary act that takes it from them (their governmental role, not their money or social standing or anything like that). I mean, if it's a motion that's supported by the people and parliament, what's to stop parliament from cutting off the royal family's role in government?

That being said I know just about nothing about British constitutional law.
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

If their privilege and status conflicted with my interests as a citizen, it could be something to be contested.
