I would strongly prefer Bernie losing to Trump after a FAIR PRIMARY than Hillary losing to Trump after an UNFAIR PRIMARY.

Unfortunately, Danna Brazile, Debbie Wasserman Shultz and Hillary precluded that possibility.

I swear this "Bernie could've won" crap is Leftist Lost Cause bullshit.

Bernie tanked among Blacks. There's no Clintom conspiracy there, he just fucking tanked for them as a demographic. Running against a Clinton brand recognition in the Black community is what advertisers call a hail mary.

I voted for Bernie, he lost, I voted for Clinton, she lost. It's a done deal.

Yeah, how about "only if Trump wasn't an asshole." That's just as fanciful.

Next prediction: like any new boss, Leftists will spend more time tearing down the old boss instead of going to work on building up a New Democratic base. Because it's lazy and easier to do.

I mean, I'm not a leftist, so hopefully I don't fall under that umbrella. I think Bernie would have won in the areas where Clinton failed miserably, but who knows, maybe Trump would have won anyway.

The point of keeping Bernie in the conversation to me is keeping him relevant; the Democrats will need him and his supporters if they want to defeat Trump in 2020. His base are active when they have a cause worth fighting for, and if he can get them to get out and vote for the next Democratic candidate, they might have a chance.

Do try to remember that Sanders couldn't even beat Clinton and, as they said, she had to go easy on him.

Yes I did. I don't see anything particularly outrageous that even comes close to what Trump and Clinton had to deal with.

I remember that Sanders won 23 states, as both an underdog from the start, and against a person who was thought to have been the "presumptive nominee" well before the first primary even voted. He did that whilst fighting the DNC the entire way, as the leaked emails show they were less than fair in their treatment of him versus Clinton.

Besides, the election isn't about winning Democrats, it's about winning independents and potentially trying to flip some Republicans too.

I have no doubt that Sanders would have been more successful at peeling away both "change" voters and frustrated independents (and there is surely an overlap therein) -- and at the same time been free of a current scandal that invited the FBI to influence the outcome as it did in the last week with Comey's actions.

Clinton didn't take it easy on Bernie out of niceness -- she did so in a (failed) attempt to woo his supporters in her primary bid. And as matters stand, she ended up fighting the last week of the campaign on ground that Trump chose, which is never good strategy in any campaign. I don't doubt Bernie would have been better able to frame the issues, given that he was lugging less baggage.

Well if you look at it long term the areas where Hilary Clinton did worst were the areas where the Republican supress the vote effort were at their strongest. Things like crossckeck denying 7 million citizens the vote, illegal id checks, faulty machines, closing polling stations in high density areas are what won it for Herr Oberststurmbanngroppenfuhrer.

But you know what i voted for Jill Stein she is more Bernie Sanders than Bernie Sanders is.

It is going to be harder for Donald Trump and our Republican overlords in Congress to repeal Obamacare than they think. It turns out lots of people rely upon it for their health care, and they don't want it to go away.

Including lots of Trump voters, like the coal miners who voted for him in droves because they heard him say he'd bring back their jobs, but missed the part where he said he'd repeal Obamacare.
