What's your thoughts on Trump?

RE: What's your thoughts on Trump?
What are my thoughts on Trump?

He and his ignorant supporters are like the dog turds that have been sitting in the sun too long, but not long enough to have dried out and become harmless, sitting on a hot footpath just waiting for someone to step on them so they can ruin your day.

So I'm curious, espacially about american atheists, how do you see Trump? And what categories of people do you see to be more mesmerised by Trump? mesmerised = seeing him like a savior who battles the evil forces of Soros and his like in the name of humanity - kind-of-thing.

Turn the TV on to cable news, watch for no more than 10 minutes.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

I was shocked when I found out that Trump became the President-elect - you know, when USA was supposed to be some sort of example of democracy to other countries, and the President an example even more so. But even more shocked I was to see that there are many people (even outside USA) who see Trump as a hero who came to save the world. Smth like this video portrays. It's even more shocking when I see atheists who support Trump - though Trump isn't a particularly religious guy, I tend to associate him with conservative christians. Same weird as when I see atheist / non-religious homophobes.

The US has lost the high ground. I can no longer support its place as leader of the free world.

They don't need your support.

RE: What's your thoughts on Trump?
There were millions and millions that voted for Trump. Among them were people that are rightly frustrated with the system looking for a shake-up, there were people who are uncomfortable with the quickly-changing demographics of our country, there were people whose economic desires drove their decision, and there were people who voted for Trump because they felt that he was genuinely the best choice for our country.

Regardless of their motivations, I feel that all of those groups have been sold the Golden Gate Bridge, and will be disappointed. As we're seeing Trump is surrounding himself with the 'swampy' career politicians and corporate influences that his campaign promised to root out, his ideas on immigration, deportation, and border security would be unbelievably difficult to implement in any form resembling what he promised, the economic system that he plays with is the very system that is imperiling the middle class in the first place, and he's making himself an ass out of himself on twitter and in the face of the diplomatic world (except maybe in Putin's eyes).

The thing is, I can't do anything but hope he exceeds my expectations. I want Trump to do well, to make life better for Americans as a whole, and to strengthen our economy. But I just have zero faith that he's capable of doing that with the things he's promised to do, and he's equally as incapable of taking criticism or compromise.

I desperately hope that he proves me (and his other critics) wrong.

When you consider why 'democracy' was a dirty word in the mouths of the Founders, I'd say that this election was a perfect example of it.

Well Trump wouldn't be President if it weren't for the Electoral College, so... Democracy: 1, Founding Fathers: 0

I'm not thinking in terms of vote count. I'm thinking in terms of the mob.

As I repeatedly said: An utterly disgusting creature. And not since he ran for president, but since I first heard of him and saw him in action.

RE: What's your thoughts on Trump?
I'm not American so I don't give a fuck about Donald Trump.  I know I will care soon because Donald Trump is evil and once he's committed genocide and killed all the minorities in America him and Putin will probably bomb the UK right after the brexit happens that will definitely result in us all dying anyway.

But for now I have to find it so fucking funny.  It really is like the southpark episode.  You have a country where there's trigger warnings, safe spaces, a sorry for being white atttitude, and this guy comes along saying things like "Mexico is sending us their rapists, we need to keep the Muslims out, I'd bomb the shit out of those terrorists and steal their oil."

Ontop of that there was hardly 1 mainstream celebrity on his side.  People on TV were LITERALLY belly aching with laughter at him becoming president.

Ontop of that there's the republicans and conservatives against him. I mean the ones who were against him.

There was a thread on here asking something about was Donald Trump elected because of the SJW movement in America.  Yes he was.  It's like a pendulum.  You push one way with white privilage, safe spaces, trigger warnings, 10, 000 genders and you can change yours on a daily basis, black lives matter so on and so forth.  And then when that pendulum swings back because it's been pushed so far it's going to swing as far as the guy who says things like "Let's keep all the Muslims out."

I have no idea what Donald Trump is going to do but just looking from an outside perspecitve and in admittedly kind of a shallow way, he's at least very VERY admirale as an example as someone who succeeds even while being bullied by the popular good looking kids in class (The movie stars and celebrities out there) and all the gossipers and shit talkers (Journalists and mainstream media)

I think some of the stuff he has said is stupid as fuck but I somehow don't think his actions as president will be as stupid as that.  I think he'll hopefully be pretty careful about how he plays the president role when it comes down to it.

I don't keep up with American politics though, I know what people will say about him on here but that's pretty much it.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

A large motivation I suspect was the notion of 'fuck it, what have we got to lose?'. I don't think anyone would really be disappointed besides those who didn't vote for him

Compared to another presidency that maintains the status quo, many would rather shake things the fuck up, irrespective of whether it succeeds or not.

Don't mistake that for carelessness though, the point here is that to many the current set up isn't working for them regardless of who they vote for, so in actuality what does it matter if Trump doesn't do all he promises. As long as he does some of it they're already winning.
