What's your thoughts on Trump?

We are not at a point where we can ignore them now, that is the problem. Trump is far too dangerous to let it go.

I agree, I'm just saying don't bother trying to reason with the wingnuts. People that are sold on that snake-oil are going to buy it no matter what facts you have at your disposal.

He still wouldn't have won a free and fair election. Hell, if the Republitraitors weren't so insistent on reintroducing Jim Crow he wouldn't have won under the fucked up US gerrymandered system.

Trump is seeming to be every bit as bad I feared he'd be.

And that was very very bad indeed.

Again, if we were talking about them being a small mass with no influence you'd be right, but those people got Trump elected, so again, it would be nice not to have to deal with them, but their mass, was a big enough minority to push all republicans to get the Trump win.

As I said previously, I've talked to these fools on conservative forums and the reality is, they don't give a shit about facts. They listen to talk radio, read tabloid winger magazines, and watch FOX news round the clock. You're not going to suddenly convince them that their whole political outlook and philosophy is wrong. They weren't reasoned into their beliefs, and they won't be reasoned out of them.

You have to play their game and use emotional arguments like they were convinced by in the first place.

And his fucking "Nazi" comment on Twitter this morning.  What the fuck would you call it when someone paints Obama as "other" for 5 years, spends a year demagoguery of entire groups of people, attacking media and intel and political rivals. That is the exact same tactic the Nazis used.

I don't know about his comment on twitter, but from your description, that's exactly how politits in Romania have been in the latest ~30 years. Demonizing the political adversary (the way how Obama and Hillary became the Devil, in your case), demonizing the people who support the other parties (e.g. people didn't take to the streets because they got pissed off on the political power, rather the other political party called them to the streets and payed them money).

And we've got several media companies who afford to say anything, even outright lies, and they're not being held responsible. And sadly, the majority of the people are loyal to those channels. I could simply call those loyalists stupid, but I also found otherwise intelligent people who fell for such bullshits. So I'd say, media manipulation really is a threat.

But hey, I know that as long as EU and NATO stands, and my country in EU, democracy in Romania will not allow politicians to send the army to put off the rioters, as it happened in Ukraine.

btw, speaking of Alex Jones, do you guys know about Paul Watshon? He's also from infowars, as Alex Jones. He's got a lot of views for his videos and 700k subscribers.

I'm not sure this is possible.

If Trump's political power will grow, I expect the media (FOX, etc.) to speak of the Democrat party as of the devil, and its supporters likely to be called anti-american, traitors to the nation, etc. In the worst case, you don't wanna be a jewish person in Nazi Germany trying to convince nazism-manipulated germans that the jewish people are actually good people - I'm not sure it would work.

The way I see it, media has almost all the power. You can speak whatever logic you want to them, they'll call you stupid and obediently believe their preferred TV channel.
