There is no evidence, that will ever matter to simple-minded people, more than the empty promises cynically made by the churches. At the end of the day - there is no immediate gain for the average Joe, from knowing the truth, especially when it comes to ancient history and faraway places. There is, however, a great comfort in the fantasy.

People who put old books before empirical science will not be convinced by science. They're just going to have to die out, as their children, taught nonsense instead of established facts, will slowly be pushed more and more into the margin of society.

There are also two ants, a beetle and some foliage in the amber. That's pretty cool. Hopefully Burma can contribute more useful things to science in the coming years!

Of course.... I wouldn't expect the anti-intelligence crowd to read the article or respond to the points made.   This was posted for others Big Grin

Good, so at least I'm not alone.

LOL If that was me I would be holding a jello shot.

Though if we can't get a Jurassic Park, I'll settle for a Dinosaur petting zoo like in Futurama:

The articles are from two different discoveries, one in 2010 and this recent one. Both articles try to cast doubt on the claims made, in order to say that it could be something else. I wouldn't be surprised if there are dozens of similar articles regarding other discoveries in the fossil record or in genetics or any of the other fields that can help develop the theory of evolution further. It's the perfection of the conspiracy theorist's mindset.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
