Curious Science Questions of Wonderment

Curious Science Questions of Wonderment
Did you ever have a curiosity about something that you always wondered about and wanted a scientific answer to?

Mine is why does a housefly that is flying around in your car never smack into either a front or back windshield or door window while the car is in motion or stops suddenly?

Does anyone know the answer? Have another curiosity that needs answering? Post it here.

I know bugger all about houseflies so I can't help you there.

I once asked a mate of mine – chemical engineer, very bright fella – ' You know how the universe is made of, like, stuff? How does that work exactly?'

He paused for a few seconds and said, ' I'm fighting the urge to light you on fire.'

Flies are small enough the viscosity of the air is a larger factor for them than us.

Moving an aquarium around doesn't slam the little fishies up against the glass, if you're looking for an analogy.  IOW, air is 'thicker' for flies.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Interesting. That makes sense. I had not thought about it that way before. Thanks vorlon. Smile

I always wonder why certain species of mosquitoes evolved to drink blood whereas others didn't?

Why does men wearing no rings fight to seduce a lady, but once you get a ring suddenly you are more appealing?

Its because you have been pre-approved by another woman.

When I started dating my now wife I went to a night club twice.

The first time I went with my male friends and no girl looked my way. ( not a problem I was there to bogy)
The next week I went with my girlfriend, every single girl checked me out with some actually trying to move between me and the girl I was obviously dancing with.

Very odd.

Why is poop brown?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
