Prophecies about Trump becoming president

I'll type slowly so that you can understand.
A country is not a business and should not be run like one.
To put a business man in charge of a country is putting a man with the wrong skill set in charge.

Quote:But while we might all grant that there are exceptions, the general question still stands: does it make sense to run government like a business? The short answer is no. Bear in mind, first, that “efficiency” in the private sector means profit. Hence, to ask that the government be run like a business is tantamount to asking that the government turn a profit. The problem in a nutshell, is that not everything that is profitable is of social value and not everything of social value is profitable.

A Corporate State can work but it needs to be set up properly. Given Trump's record of losses and serial bankruptcies he doesn't seem the best candidate to turn the economy around.
He is at best a salesman or publicist and clearly lacks the financial skills required to fulfill the claims he's made.
He's certainly no Sir George Barlow, much less a Lord Minto.

Actually, the muslims didn't get to much of Europe in the 8th century.  Most of Muslim inroad into Europe occurred after the 14th century.  The Turks got as far as besieging and almost taking Vienna in 1683.

The Ottomans didn't invade the Balkans for overtly muslamic reasons, whereas the Berbers did invade Andalucia and northwards for same, at least they professed so. The Ottoman invasions were overtly for geopolitical reasons, they saw a weak ERE and later Balkans and Hungary and took their chances.

That's mainly because our ex post perception of the Ottoman Empire as a more traditional territorial empire with more clearly defined secular interests.  The ottomans themselves would not have perceived their secular interests as being anything separate or beyond the interests of Islam.  They main difference between the ottomans and prior Islamic invasions might be in ottoman view of Islamic interests contain more of what we at present time might classify as geopolitical interests by our way of thinking.

Certainly the ottomans made more muslims out of Europeans than prior Islamic invasion.

I rather doubt Ottoman rule in Europe (had they succeeded) would have been any more influential or less chaotic than their rule of the Barbary Coast.

You think that's a hoverboard? Ha, this is a hoverboard; Trump grandiose style, just like that wall that's about to be built by prison labor:

He is a s qualified to be president as I am to be a surrogate mother and I'm a man.
That he is the president elect is funny and scary.

I used to have one of those. It was called a 'board'.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
