Fucking Christ, Brian, get a grip.

Much as I despise the GOP and Trump, what the hell does any of this have to do with them (or Obama and the Democrats, for that matter)? Can you really say you're surprised that brick-and-mortar retailers continue to lose ground in the digital age? Of course they do! I'm not happy about the jobs lost, but this is almost as predictable as a sunrise -- and about as political.

So? Why would you put up with it if you say you don't like it anymore than I do? "Predictable" yep it's been that way for 36 years and it won't change if we keep putting up with it.

It still remains that something has to replace the jobs that get cut and the jobs left have to provide a decent living standard. GOP wont invest in anything but tax breaks for the rich.

Same holding their breaths when big oil was forced to get led out of gas. Same bullshit with car companies when Nader said their products were unsafe, only to incorporate seat belts and air bags.

I get that times change, just like we've gone from rotary phones to cell phones. Just like we've gone from horses and buggies to cars. Just like we only had newspapers and snail mail but now have the internet. I have no problem with that kind of change.

But the GOP use that to create more part time jobs that don't keep up with the cost of living and DONT invest in workers or new technology or new training and love that desperation because it maintains their cheap labor market.

Question, Brian: When was the last time you bought something at a Macy's brick-and-mortar?

The only jobs that can be "created" are service industry, mostly part time jobs in any case.

In this age and era where computers are replacing humans and do better and more efficient work, we are going to have to make concessions as to what percentage of employed people make for what we would consider a healthy economy.

This must be why the republicunts hate health care.  They need to make this a reality!

Boru

Did you not read my prior posts.

IT IS FINE that new things replace old things. But something has to compensate for what is removed. But in any case factory or service, it is absolute BULLSHIT to think the GOP has a plan, it is simply the same bullshit scam Reagan started.

You cannot keep exploding the pay gap and expect the system to sustain itself. GOP is pro monopoly not a "free market", but a "free for all market'.

Their anti regulation is fucking bullshit. Regulations are why cars mandate seat belts and airbags now. Car companies didn't die as a result of that. REGULATIONS which are what those fuckers destroy, are why we had our market crash. Why no CEO at Duke Energy went to jail for illegally dumping coal ash. Why nobody at Wells Fargo went to prison for their scam.

Change is certainly FINE, but not if it creates more instability which is what the assholes do. FUCK even China accepts climate change and pollution as a problem and are way ahead of us investing in more clean energy.

THE GOP is the party of "fuck you I got mine" and "die quickly". That certainly works for the billionaires and CEOs and shareholders SHORT TERM, but it turns our economy into a casino where the rich privatize the wins and socialize the loses.

DEMAND creates jobs, not the business itself. Billionaire Nick Hanauer I have posted SEVERAL TIMES saying the same thing. WORKERS make the bulk of that demand, not the rich. More money in workers pockets, more to spend, more to spend, more demand. That applies to any business, not just factory, not just service. ALL.

Here's a guy who didn't get the message, Brian.  I'm sure they will send a couple of guys around to get him back toeing the party line.

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/01/i-was-st...wage-hike/

Quote:‘I was stunned by the business’: Fast food CEO says profits soared after minimum wage hike

Quote:For years, opponents of minimum wage increases have argued that wage hikes mean fewer jobs because businesses have to raise prices and cut hours to cover the additional expenses. But Phelps said that his sales skyrocketed after a California law forced businesses to raise wages in 2014.
“I was shocked,” Phelps recalled. “I was stunned by the business.”
The same thing happened earlier this year when California raised the minimum wage to $10.50 per hour, Phelps said.

And, to what does he attribute this remarkable turnaround?  Certainly not to his stellar entrepreneurial ability that the republicunts love to talk about!

Quote:“It isn’t because I’m such a great manager or smart guy, but the buying public has more money in their pocket.”

You know the fucktards aren't going to tolerate this kind of heresy.

Yeah, I'd love to believe that, but it'll take an actual study rather than a RawStory puff piece to convince me that it's true.
