What Do You Think?

If you believe the universe has been intelligently designed then you believe the universe has purpose and meaning

If you believe there is no intelligent designer then the universe, GRAVITY INCLUDED, is the result of

a meaningless, purposeless random chance occurrence

No way around this fact

If you believe gravity is the result of a meaningless, purposeless random chance occurrence

with no scientific evidence to back the postulation up

then your conclusion is based on BLIND FAITH, not science

AND NOW TIME FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

A person may believe that, but it's not an issue of "must".  I intelligently design little shapes by folding empty cigarette packs.  No purpose, really, no meaning to it.  Just a tick of mine.

As poorly formed as the above.  While I'm not sure what it's supposed to mean that gravity is the result of purpose or the result of meaning ("things fall in because purpose"..."things fall in because meaning"....?)...it's trivially easy to show that gravity is not the result of something random, or a result of chance.

.....?

I think I'm getting it, now, you're attempting to manufacture a false dichotomy.  Meh.

Not my conclusion, personally, but I did ask who's it was, that was my first question...who believes that, and for those reasons....other than yourself?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

YOU WROTE:

MY RESPONSE:

If you do something because it amuses you THAT is indeed a purpose.
If the Intelligent Designer creates because it amuses him to do so
THAT is indeed a purpose

YOU HAVE NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE

THAT GRAVITY IS THE RESULT OF A COINCIDENTAL RANDOM CHANCE OCCURRENCE

TO BLINDLY BELIEVE IT IS

IS NOT SCIENTIFIC!!!

THE ONLY OTHER OPTION IS THAT GRAVITY WAS INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED

WHY? IS IRRELEVANT

CONCLUSION:

THOSE WHO BELIEVE GRAVITY WAS NOT INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED

DO SO ON THE BASIS OF BLIND FAITH, NOT ON THE BASIS OF SCIENCE

It's just habitual.  I think it used to amuse me, but now I don't even look.  Is that the sort of purpose you're talking about, when positing a purposeful universe, or a necessity of purpose in intelligently designed things?

I don;t think that gravity is a result of a coincidental random chance occurrence.   I think that's it's the effect of the curvature of spacetime caused by the uneven distribution of mass, gravity can be plotted and predicted mathematically and so I'm not sure what sense it makes to describe it as a "result of a coincidental random chance occurrence" regardless of whether or not the universe is intelligently designed?

For what, the third or fourth time.....who believes this?

Obviously that's not the only other option., it doesn't even seem to have any relevance to what you attempt to draw the inference from. Not only is it a false dichotomy, you've completely lost your shit?
Huh

DO YOU BELIEVE GRAVITY WAS INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED. YES OR NO?

IF NO, PRESENT YOUR SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE TO BACK YOUR STANCE

IT'S AMAZING HOW YOU CONTINUALLY TRY TO DANCE AROUND

SUCH A SIMPLE CHALLENGE!!!

RE: What Do You Think?
I sure don't.  Now, however, you're defending an ignorant false dichotomy by shifting the burden of proof.

I don't believe it was intelligently designed, because there is no evidence that it was intelligently designed, or that there is an intelligent designer, but more than that....it works without the need of an intelligent designer.  What evidence we do have, tells us that gravity is a result of the curvature of spacetime caused by the uneven distribution of mass.  I don;t actually believe in this, either, in the sense that you're obviously fishing for...but hey, them's the breaks.

RE: What Do You Think?
Gravity is the result a thousands of small invisible demons holding you down on the Earth's surface.

Without these "gravimps" you'd simply be pulled off the planet's surface by the motion of the planet.

Of course, being demons, these gravimps are inherently evil and, therefore, should be exorcised as quickly as possible

But then you're faced with the ultimate in moral tests: Exorcise the demons and float off to certain death or accept their help, live out your life, but be condemned to hell for all eternity.

Moral of the story: God's a prick
Dying to live, living to die.

IF YOU BELIEVE GRAVITY WAS NOT INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED

WITH NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE TO BACK YOUR STANCE

THEN YOU ARE PRESENTING A BLIND FAITH BELIEF

NOT A SCIENTIFIC ONE!!!
