Sleep Paralysis...
#21
RE: Sleep Paralysis...
I had it once. Totally fucked up. I have lucid dreams and night terrors, though, so I was fairly ready for it.

Tibby had it once a few months ago. Terrified him. He doesn't even remember his dreams most of the time, so he was like "Fuck was that?!"

Quote:There was a psychological terror to that, but never any physical symptoms.

Several years ago I met a female geologist who told me about a friend of her's who was dealing with some sort of terrifying paranormal/supernatural 'experience'. The episodes as described were text-book SP.  This friend was Singaporean and she really thought that, IAW her cultural beliefs, she was being attacked, stalked and haunted by demons.  This girl was college educated which kinda surprised me.

I gave my geologist friend the book "Why People Believe Weird Things" to pass on to her friend.  I fail to understand how is it that a college educated individual can believe in such non-sense...

RE: Sleep Paralysis...
I had my first last week, not the first actually but the first one with hallucinations. The other ones I've had, I couldn't move for a few seconds. It happened last week, I took a nap after school, sleeping on my back, and my TV was in front of me. I woke up and didn't see very well, but I could see my blurry reflection on the TV and my head was bobbing (but it wasn't really). I kind of panicked and felt a strong and 'evil' presence to the right of me and under my bed, then I could move after a few seconds, started with moving my toes first. Glad I didn't see any demons, but I wasn't too fearful since I already knew about sleep paralysis.

Edit: I've read that sleeping on the back can cause sleep paralysis, I've never liked to sleep on my back, I've 'never' done so and never do but the one time I do I experience this shit lol. It was a cool experience anyway. Sometimes I find it quite comfortable to sleep partially on my back.

I try to make an effort to never sleep on my back.  SP has only ever happened to me when I'm asleep on my back.  It kinda makes you wonder why demons only attack people who sleep on their backs, don't it??? Big Grin
