Turkey to ban evolution from curriculum

Turkey to ban evolution from curriculum
Well, another step in the direction of theocratic dictatorship. That's not even the pretense of keeping what Atatürk had in mind. It's a rollback to the days of the early 20th century. Nationalism and religious nuttery combined.

Quote:The new curriculum draft for primary and secondry schools in Turkey excludes Evolution Theory from biology courses

And as always, keeping them stupid is one of the most powerful tools of wannabe dictators.

Quote:-The failed coup attempt will be included in Social Studies courses starting from the 6th grade.

- The overall academic difficulty is reduced.

- Evolution Theory is excluded from Biology courses. The related unit named “The Origins of Life and the Evolution” is replaced with “Living Beings and Environment”.

Maybe they should ban teaching the "theory" of gravity next and then show the world how they can fly!
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

Yeah, Turkey's in a bad way. Erdogan is dangerous.

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.

Worth pointing out though that the percentage of young earth creationists in Turkey is about the same as it is in the USA. Which is why we're always playing wacamole with them trying the same thing here.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

At least Erdogan did not brag about grabbing pussies.

I would say in 10 years, the world would be as if none of the lessons from 1929 to 2001 ever occurred.

Well he would be if he had the most powerfull military the world had ever seen at his disposal, just as well its in the steady hands of the USA.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.

There are exactly two things Trump had to do with this, jack and shit. There's plenty to take Trump to task for without being absurd, not to mention being factually incorrect. We can't exactly ridicule Trump for having his own facts if we in turn make up our own shit.

So are we.  The WLB is dangerous, too.
