It's disturbing for sure. There are so many executive orders this week that Trump has signed and I'm not even sure which is the worst but this ranks right up there.

I'd be willing to bet Trump never heard of a black site before this week. It's entirely possible that the Republicans and their lawyers are drafting executive orders to their liking and then telling Trump "sign here". Doesn't make what he's doing any less reprehensible though.

I can only repeat what I always say. Take him at his word. He will do what he said to do. Reintroducing torture - even if it doesn't work, in his own words. Killing the families of terrorists - or suspected terrorists - may come next.

Take him at his word, and you won't be surprised by the depravity. I know I'm always arguing against comparing him to Hitler, but what you said there begs a comparison. There was a standard phrase in Hitler's Germany: If only the Führer knew. Well, he knew, and Trump knows. He's not a puppet, since he's not Shrub. Oh, I have no doubt that Trump means exactly what he says. I encountered people here and there during the campaign who thought he must have been joking or performing when he said his outrageous things but I always told them that he's not joking, he's 100% serious. Which is why Republicans who want to roll the clock back on everything have been wetting themselves with joy since he was "elected".

US President Donald Trump has said he believes waterboarding works, stating "we have to fight fire with fire".

Mr Trump said that while radical groups beheaded people in the Middle East "we're not playing on an even field".

But Mr Trump also said he would consult Defence Secretary James Mattis and CIA director Mike Pompeo and "if they don't want to do it that's fine".

Both have indicated opposition to reintroducing the interrogation method, widely considered a form of torture.

Ireland never stopped allowing rendition flights through Shannon, I'm guessing one of the warehouses there was always a black site.

Oh, and he's reintroducing torture because he "feels" that it works. Frankly anybody who advocates the introduction of torture should be broken on a wheel for a couple of hours before they're allowed vote on it. See how they feel when they find out what torture is.

Expect the CIA to kill hundreds, if not thousands of innocent people over the next few years through torture and the anti-US sentiments across the world to spiral.
