I do not recall Obama coming and taking everybody's guns. In fact if there was anything domestic that he did, that I have a problem with, it's expanding NSA spying, and keeping Guantanamo open. In other words, things the republicans like having in place.

Our government banned most guns after kids were blown away at a school in Dunblane, unfortunately. Brits never really had a "right" to firearms either.

Americans should consider themselves very lucky.

Only handguns, of the non-sporting variety. I'm happy for that to be the case; and while I'm saddened that it took that tragedy to do something, I'm also thankful that I live in a country where the voices of people saying "no more" are actually heard.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
