Bill Gates and Stalin accordingly are BOTH in hell-- what they did is irrelevant. Bill Gates philanthropy counts for nothing, but neither does Stalin's murder of millions. I also want to know why hell was created by God. And also why he created the devil or hasn't destroyed him yet. Seeing as most Christians blame sin or sinful actions on the devil, why can't god (the all powerful being that he is) just get rid of the devil and therefore get rid of all sin and then we can all go to heaven and live forever with sky daddy.

God can do anything. At least Vishnu can. the thing, why material world is created - because... because it is freedom of will for every soul. soul can either serve God, Vishnu or not. So everyone in this material world some time in past was kind of atheist - and rejected God, Vishnu and wanted to be LORD in hell, instead of servant in heaven, in eternal spiritual world... Vaikuntha or Goloka...
then we became someone like Lord Brahmas, and created our universes, lived other trillions of human years, lived other millions lifetimes.
some lifetimes were long, others - short. like trees, flowers, grass, plants ... still consciousness has to develop. after many lifetimes, even forms like stone - they develop consciousnes, and then reincarnate.
some yogis degrade - they become stones. they are false yogis.
some demons, asuras or rakshasas - they also try to meditate on Vishnu - and they also get punishment. it is said in Iso Upanishad - that some killers of souls- they are asuras, atheists - they are more dangerous than killers of physical body... that is second death, or spiritual death. those who die spiritually, those who think soul is matter, and that there is no God - they are demons, killers of soul (and thus - suicide themselves, and kill others - people, animals , holy cows etc)...
you ask why Krishna create millions universes? simple!
He is cause of everything. He expands himself in other forms, then finally - as Mahavishnu. Mahavishnu breathes out - and many Brahmas appear. so each Brahma wants to be like Krishna or God. so finally if some Brahma is non devotee - he can even degrade to level of some demon, asura... yes, or he can degrade so that he is punished in hell. yes. it is his karma... so why did Krishna create karma? well., he didn't create it directly - He just gives matter and He is source of all souls... and souls themselves decide to "cooperate" with matter - and thus they create karma - good bad etc -go to heaven or hell. still it is temporary, if that is not eternal spiritual world, beyond matter, beyond even material heavenly planets (even above planet of Brahma and Indra, head of all demogods)...
Chrisitians cannot really get rid of devil or Satan. Jesus only said - "satan - go away from me", but can Jesus defeat some asura like Ravana, Hiranyakashipu, Hiranyaksha, Kamsa etc? no, I'm not sure. Jesus was just crucified to death by some demoniac people that's all..
Thus vaisnavism is much better than chrisitianity. we accept reincarnation, karma... yes, eternal hell is non existent in vaishnavism. there are longest hells - also in buddhism - but such hells are not eternal... so we criticize abrahamic religious philosophers or theologicians for that they say that there is "eternal hell".. hell there is...
ther are hundreds thousands of hellish planets in this material universe.
there are some 6 or even 7 hellish planetary systems... and ral atheists go there... so atheists. take care - hells are real, and be careful not to get there!
there is something even worse than hell.
in Bhagavad Gita chptr 16, Krishna says that asuras, demons, worst atheists - they are repeatedly reborn in lowest species of life, they always become demons in each and every life, and always are opposed do demigods, who live on heavenly planets... but as far as we can conclude, worst demons, worst atheists/asuras - they fall down indeed from spiritual world / Vaikuntha doors like Jaya and Vijaya. this is similar to the fall of Lucifer - who was kind of angel and became head of demons...
yes, there are leaders of demons. in Vedas his name - guru , teacher, leader of demons, asuras - his name is Shukracharya... but it's another story.

your last question - "why can't we all go to heaven"- we can. if we want. but we want higher than heaven - to eternal spiritual world.
there was a demon - Ravana - he wanted to build a stair-way to heaven - so that everyone who doesn't perform sacrifices or who doesn't worship Vishnu - still "he will go to heaven using this stair"...
finally Ravana was killed by Rama avatara of Vishnu (or say Rama is source of Vishnu)

so it is a question of your choice, of every soul: what he wants...
just like... a little, as in computer game. imagine you have many lifetimes. actually - countless lifetimes... but in each life - you create karma or you get rid of it... and if you created bad karma, in your computer game you go to hellish level, but not as enjoyer - but as punished victim for your sins... do you know any computer game which has "hell level"where you are punished?
well you can know computer games in which you are killed...
so material world is a little like computer game - you think you are material body, but actually you are some player by computer (soul), and you play a game.
