Old ideas in politics need terms

Old ideas in politics need terms
It is absurd that those in congress can spend their entire lives in the same spot, ensuring their unchanging ideas keep hold over a society that is ever changing.

If the president has a term, then so should every other position in politics.

There is no reason to have dark-age thinking in politics due to the fact that their positions are for life rather than based on a short term basis.

The only way anything can realistically change in politics is if we go the route of Out with the old and in with the new.

Voters are too stupid to vote out their favorite crooks, they just want other people to vote out their own favorite crooks.

There's been a significant amount of research on the effects of term limits on legislators, and the general conclusion is that it is not a good idea. If they are unable to be re-elected, then they won't have an insensitive to serve the interests of their constituents. If you think the level of influence by corporations and lobbyists is bad now, then whew, imagine when they have no reason to listen to the people at all? Not to mention that, with term limits, being a Congressman is no longer a career, which means they will be more focused on securing a certain position after their term ends, rather than spending their time doing their job.
