The church has the moral high ground?

I wouldn't be able to stay in that church after such a display. There's plenty to detest about certain churches, but when a pastor does something like that, and doesn't walk away in disgrace as he should have, you know the size of his ego likely rivals the size of the church's coffers.

Now give me 10% of your gross income before taxes. Remember, you steal from the church, you steal from god.

That's a big part of why I became an atheist. The actual scripture told the "people of Israel" not Christians to give the Levites (not preachers or pastors) a tithe of food (not money) that the one tithing partook in as well (ate)

That deception made me think and also got me mad.
