Goddamned Lower back pain

Goddamned Lower back pain
I've beenin bed rest for 7 days with heat treatment for my lower back pain near the discs. Currently at the 6th day.

Does anybody else have this? If you do share some kind of exercises or something. Also, do you think with enough exercise this will pass... Or is this a life time deal?

Here's what I could find for myself:

I got the pain after lifting a huge weight (my fat friend lol) from the ground while he was sitting on my shoulders. It was supposed to be simple but I think my poor posture was the reason.

RE: Goddamned Lower back pain
I found one promising-looking website here.

I had really bad back pain for about a month once when I flubbed a deadlift at the gym.  I hadn't secured one of the plates properly and tried to brute-force re-balance the bar as it shifted, rather than just letting it fall.  I felt an odd stretching sensation on the right side of my back and did finally drop the bar.  The next morning, and for some days afterwards, it was excruciating to get out of bed and hard to walk.

Hopefully it's just muscle strain.  You may feel tenderness in muscles either in the upper glutes or lower back, either to the side or centrally.  Gentle heat (not too hot!) plus massage, pain-relief creams and oral pain medications are good places to start.  At 7 days from the injury it's past the point where ice is the preferred treatment, although I've heard good things about alternating heat and cold.  Doing stretches in bed or working out in a swimming pool are fairly safe exercises you could try.

It's also possible that you got radiculopathy from a pinched nerve exiting the spinal column -- One telltale sign is a shooting pain down the leg.  AFAIK that will gradually resolve over a few months, although a Physiatrist or Neurologist with expertise in electrodiagnostic testing can confirm that's what it is.

If you aren't noticing any improvement by the end of next week, check in with your family doctor.  You may need physiotherapy or referral to a specialist.

(Disclaimer:  I am not a doctor, but I work for a number of doctors with expertise in this area.)

I went to a doctor a few weeks back. He gave me a set of tablets and a pain relief cream. Asked me to take the meds and if the pain still persists to go see a neurologist. The pain didn't go away. After a Sunday football game I felt the pain going down to the legs on Monday morning so I went to have a massage-heat treatment. I have no idea what to do next if the pain still doesn't go away lol. I'm currently at the sixth day of the seven day treatment and I'm still getting a bit uneasy if I so much as jump 2 feet. I'll probably have to go see the doctor if this stupid thing doesn't go away..after all its almost been past a month this stupid thing has been bothering me!

x) thanks for the link and info <3

A week isn't the issue, I've suffered pains for almost a month in the past, you need to consult an experienced neurologist and orthopedic to ensure it is nothing serious. Also alternating heat and ice packs can help much more than just heat treatment.

I'll probably have to consult a neurologist. Yep.
Does your pain completely disappear or do you always have to be cautious with your movements so that the pain doesn't come back?

Mine disappeared completely, but in your case I would not recommend bench-pressing people out of your league again

Sounds similar to what I went through a few years ago. An MRI revealed a badly blown disc, I wound up having to have a laminectomy (L4/L5). Best advice - don't wait. These things don't get better on their own.

Thank you Boru. I'm going to wait for one more week and see about the pain. Definitely going to see a neurologist if the pain persists. Did you had to do surgery in your case?
