TV commercial overload Grrrrr !!
Ok, 60 Minutes wrapped up with an insipid look at a Vatican choir,

*as they were going to commercial a blurb-over for the CBS site

* then a Viagra ad

* then a promotional for California dairy products of all sorts

* followed by a Cricket Wireless spot

* then we get to look at Nature Made gummy vitamins

* and a promo for Kevin Can Wait

* a promo for Man With a Plan

* and a promo for NCIS

* and Bull

* and then Training Day

* then a local politician ad on health care

* and then Anderson Windows

* and then an ad for Clarkson College

* 60 Minutes is back on for 7 seconds beseeching us to watch again next week

* followed by a Cialis ad

* followed by an AT&T commercial

* and then a spot for Alka Seltzer

* and an ad for the Discover Card

* then we get a promo for the upcoming Grammy's

* and a CBS News promo

* and then a promo for Scorpion

* and then Criminal Minds

* and at last, a reminder for Colbert

and then they went to the next show.

So, I'm already supporting (presumably) California dairy products, AT&T, and Anderson Windows via my recent purchases of their products, and AT&T I single out since the own DirecTV and I'm already paying them $200/mo for satellite TV.

I'm getting disgusted here.  I watch mostly from the DVR, but spooling through the commercials is getting to be as onerous as watching the damn things.

That's why you use internet T.V or apps like Kodi. I've been using streaming and other sources for a decade now. I don't miss the commercials and or any type of content I don't want to watch. Although, channel surfing does bring back memories of the old days when their were was less advertising. Cable and Satellite T.V is scam with all of the brain washing tools the powerful use in order to get people to buy items and to believe anything they want to spread around. Here is a prime example of the crap they spread around. http://www.target.com/p/as-seen-on-tv-sn...on=9030815

I haven't watched TV in so long. I only use Netflix, or other sites to watch shows that are currently airing. My parents don't even watch "live" TV anymore; they DVR everything so they can fast forward through the commercials.

It's been so long since I've watched regular TV (other than kodi or netflix) that this was foreign to me. I felt like, "Heeeeeey. I remember those things... commercials, they called em." Heh

Average episode length of the original Star Trek series is right around 53 minutes.

Average length of an episode of Enterprise is right around 42 minutes.

I can only imagine what it's sunk to now. If "M*A*S*H," "WKRP in Cincinnati," or any other 30 minute 70's/80's show were today, I'll bet they'd have to be an hour to tell the same story.
