I defy you to find one actual news site saying anything of the sort. What you had was people being reasonably afraid that the man sent his Press Secretary out to the podium to say "That was the largest crowd to ever witness a presidential inauguration. Period."

There is a good amount of editorializing to be done about that kind of statement and the precedent it sets on Day One.

I've spent a long while thinking while I workin dinner about that first sentence. I had thought that you meant that I couldn't find an actual news site comparing trump to hitler or the like XD I was like, 'defy you to find one? Jesus christ the avalanche is unending!'. So.... what this actually comes down to is a difference in perception. That his press secretary said that on day one terrifies you... and it doesn't affect me at all.

I agree. Perception is, in many people's world, their reality. But it doesn't change the polling data. The president's response to bad polling data should be to question why the polling data is bad and maybe alter his decision making in order to make the people in the country he leads approve of what he is doing, not to a priori dismiss any data that goes against the narrative that he wants to push.

For someone so wrapped up in perception, you are remarkably quick to dismiss the perception of the majority of the people in America. Because it doesn't fit your reality, I would guess.

But people do approve of what he's doing, by some polls. And people also do not approve of what he's doing, by other polls. What I will say for certain when we talk about polls is that people approve of him a heck of a lot more than people approve of Merkel or Hollande, and I will say for certain that Trump has been in office for 2 weeks and is making good on his campaign promises.

His response to his 3 million popular vote defeat was to launch a much needed investigation into voter fraud that his political opponents *had been seeking* up until he did it.

Your definition of "successful" and "Done great things" leave a lot to be desired in my opinion.  He used his daddy's money to make a bunch of money.  He and Paris Hilton will have a lot in common once her father kicks the bucket.

If you think he hasn't done great things, then you either haven't looked to see any of the positivity that is in Donald Trump (there's quite a bit), or you're unwilling to see it.
