A former confederate soldier and his ragtag crew of misfits bounce around space doing the right thing.

I loved Firefly. I'd rate it 3rd behind Star Trek and Babylon 5 as my favorite fictional franchise of all time. Star Wars would be 4th.
Firefly obviously lacked the epic scale of the others but it had a very endearing quality. I have a great fondness for the freedom-loving scoundrel and rogue who does the right thing. That appeals to me a lot. I also like the setting of a single solar system without aliens. I think this setting can be nearly as rich and interesting and limitless as the interstellar setting of the others and a lot more realistic. Interplanetary space is HUGE and if you stop thinking in terms of planets and start thinking in terms of artificial colonies, there is more that could be there than you could visit in a lifetime. Warp drive is not needed for a rich, grand adventure in space.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I don't know how I feel about this. I fucking love Firefly and I would love for it to come back. However, I fucking hate reboots. They always seem to ruin good things.
Have you seen the hairline of some of the players? Time hasn't been good to them...just sayin........

Joss made two of the biggest grossing movies and Fox thinks they can get him to do a reboot on the cheap? Nah.
