If there would be a depression, what would Trump say if he ran for reelection?

Of course, as we all know, capitalism shares many elements with Darwinian evolution, a somewhat mindless process of mostly bottom-up "design".  Now, if Trump's travel ban, which is already having an impact on the airline industry, should cause a cascade of events that leads to the entire economy faltering, what will be The Donald's excuse?  If you are one of the newly unemployed, how will you react to the Media's being portrayed as "liars"?

I'd be surprised if there is still human civilisation when this term of Trumps draws to a close. He's been in office what a month now and already he's pissed off the world and thrown out decades of careful skilful negotiation with ill informed rants and speaches.

If theres a depression that would be the least of our problems.

I doubt very much that Trump would admit to ANY economic downturn on his watch. Remember that anything - literally anything - that casts him in a bad light is fake news.

-'Those aren't breadlines, those are people lining up to buy my new book.'

-'We have so many extra jobs in this country, we had to export some overseas.'

-'Banks are buying up peoples' houses faster than ever.'

-'Look, an interest rate of 21% is a beautiful thing - it means that 21% of people are interested in borrowing money.'

-'I'm being told that a lot of people now have 2 or 3 jobs at the same time. This means we have a negative unemployment rate.'

Turned clickbait title into not clickbait. You're welcome

The original title was clickbait these days? Really?

Are we back to the 17th century when everything had to be explained in utmost detail to sell any kind of script?

Well, allrighty then. Make more rooms for titles in the future.

Only by clicking the thread one could know what was it about. Did nothing but completing the sentence.

Yeah, I'm sure. Better to include what the whole thread is about in the title these days. I know, it's the rules, one doesn't have to like it, only to follow it. It's not as if anyone could have guessed what a thread on depression may have been about. Reading comprehension and all.

Boy.

Boy.

It's no big deal, I should have been more explicit, and next time I will.  The entire politics sub-forum has, however, been almost entirely about Trump & the Republicans, and so, I thought that people would get the idea up front.  My error.

I wouldn't know if it was about depression the illness, economic depression or whatever until I clicked and read.

You do that. It won't change my ridicule. Feel free to add a few more insults. I refrained on commenting why Min isn't as active as he used to be. But now I have a pretty good understanding.

Well, I don't know why you bother answering to a boy, from your high horse. I hope dearly that you are drunk, because I talked to the OP and been courteous.

Yes it is in our rules, you can contest them at any time in the proper venues we have for that. You can reason better than you are doing now, so yeah, less whatever you are drinking.

It's been shown that if The Donald had simply invested Daddy's handout to him 35 or so years ago in the S&P 500, he would be far more wealthy than he is today.  As businessmen go, he is a loser.
