That sounds more like "falling" rather than "flying."

Mmm.  "Aliens" capable of traveling across trillions of miles of space came here to chip limestone.  Make perfect sense, doesn't it?

Well, I've seen crop circles stomped into forests, and mountain ranges leveled to allow more circles to be drawn, so yeah, it must be aliens.

Or am I wrong?  Huh

about the only thing on this planet worth crossing interstellar space for is my delectable hiny
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

RE: Ancient civilizations
Why and what for would anybody care for so called "ancient civilazations" anyway, other than engaging the problems we, as humans, part of nature, are having right now, right here? What's the purpose?

Who/what is asking this question anyway and for what reason? What difference does it make if there are and/or have been "ancient" civilizations? Taking into consideration that planet earth is suffering from utter idiocy regarding what happend the last 200 years in respect of how Nature was treated, why even bother about "ancient"?.

You have a mobile-phone? Good! Call "ancient history" and ask a question about its validity for solving actual/right-now problems.

WFH?

So because of a hundred year old myth, a million year old process must be false.

Them saying it's a myth, doesn't make it a myth.

It's a leap of faith. Rational explanation fails sometimes. Just like sleeping; nobody knows why we do it.

Quote:Stories are told about Atlantis because Atlantis is just that, a story (more specifically, an allegory) created by Plato.

Morphologically and genetically, we are apes.

The notion of advanced civilizations predating (roughly) the eighth millennium BCE isn't supported by the current state of the evidence.

The Christian Church crucified and burned people who talked about a "notion" different than the accepted biblical context for the history of mankind.

They too were so sure.

Plato talked about Atlantis, but Hindus talked about this:

Ancient Egyptians:

The idea always tickled the minds of humans. Why are we the only successful ones, while the ancients aren't?
Humans will keep trying.

The conclusion for how they came to be is still a matter of "what if". Nobody knows. Just "speculations".

You have to dig deep to find truth, youtube content is made by people after all. Some did their research quite well. But I agree, there's too much crap around in the site.

The current "story" give a group of humanoid apes and naked decedents of neanderthals, who magically "saw the light of civilization" and started to build pyramids.

Today, we have modern technology and tools. From shaping the stones to possibly transport them, it's very challenging to build structures on the top of mountains or pyramids perfectly aligned with the stars.

Interesting, first time I read about this, thanks for the info , Min.

It's not like the source of these theories is the same; I don't have to believe in other strange theories just because I believe in one of them.

Isn't that the big leather chair ? dope, but if you exhausted your body in healthy natural activities, a simple bed will be a luxury that is as comfortable as the chair.

They don't need big screens, they see nature everyday.

China had brilliant inventions in the past, in warfare they even had flamethrowers and rockets, if the man lifting kites are there, why wouldn't there be a larger flight mechanism? The Chinese civilization is strange to the whole region, I really wonder about what influenced it, for example the ancient Romans got everything they knew from Etruscans, who came before the Chinese ?

The culture has a different taste, the concentration on some elements make me wonder.

Thank you downbeatplump for the kite info.

The problems we have today, are mainly caused by people who never learned from the past.
