So this is where I go running.

You know those tire traps you see in army movies, where trainees have to run through a series of them? That's basically what trail running here is, except instead of tires you're putting your feet down between roots. And rocks. And fallen limbs. Or you run on those obstacles, and pretend you're a Mirkwood elf - joking about that doesn't make it less true. My calves feel like shit because I'm running on my toes half the time.



Also its hard to tell from this perspective, but this is actually a rise in the ground and goes to the height of half a flight of stairs. Not pictured are the three which are twice that height, two also root bound and the third made of a tumble of rocks.



I am basically training for the zombie outbreak.

Also we had lots of skyfloof.

I'll post some of where I go running. Looks very same-ey.

Yikes! The dying from horrible illnesses part is bad of course, but those looks! Is your brother currently auditioning in Hollywood for a lead role as handsome vampire tribe leader or something? If not, why not?

I realize just how lucky I am Thump. So far, all the photos I've posted here from various hikes/park visits have been in my own back yard, so to speak. None have been a drive of more than an hour or two. There are three more national parks and at least 30 more state parks (not counting local preservation areas, recreation areas, etc...) that I've yet to explore. Yellowstone is an easy weekend trip away and a lot of Wyoming's natural beauty is within day trip distance.

The Rockies anf the areas around them are as varied as they are beautiful, so as long as I'm able to keep getting out to photograph them, you guys can keep expecting photos of them from me.
