Actually I happen to live in area near beaches but not everyone has the same chance. But the beaches near my house are nothing like Algarve. It was pretty cold in that day.

Yeah, I've never hear that word .. unless that is some kind of sexual preference involving hand jobs.

(tee hee- and I live here now!) I have. Nearly everywhere I've lived. Florida as a teen, Japan/Sicily/Long Beach as a child, Newport, RI for prep school, Annapolis, MD for college, and beautiful, gorgeous, sunny San Diego for a glorious 5 years. Now I'm in the middle of a gray, cold, beachless winter in Tennessee and I am jelly.
This is what it looks like from my back porch.

Here. You lot use it occasionally, and I am a chameleon.

That is one adorable pup, Dystopia! Yeah, she looks like she's more German Shepherd than terrier. Best of both, it looks like!
I bet she'll end up in the 25-30 kilo range.

Amazing photos. Some of them are so texturally rich they would work in monochrome, how do you decide if you want them in colour or monochrome?

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

It's sometimes arbitrary. I don't work in black and white much because I love color. The goal is to bring up all the richness of nature that people don't stop to see or maybe don't notice at first blush. I knew I was on the right track when exercise hiking with a friend and he couldn't believe how much shit I noticed while out in the woods. That makes me want to macro the hell out of everything.
