A Georgia pastor who said Pulse nightclub shooting victims got what they deserved has been arrested on child molestation charges.
Ken Adkins, of St. Simons Island, turned himself in to police about 9 a.m. Friday on aggravated child molestation charges, reported The Florida Time-Union.
The 56-year-old Adkins, who has congregations in Atlanta, Jacksonville and Brunswick, Georgia, is an outspoken anti-LGBT activist in the Jacksonville area.

Federal worker would rather be fired than watch LGBT diversity video: God doesn’t want me to see it

David Hall, of Tolono, Illinois, says that he’d rather be fired than be forced to watch a workplace diversity video about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. The 42-year-old man says doing so violates his religious beliefs and fears he may lose his job because of it.

Except now it is not about the video.  Now it is about "insubordination."

He was given direct orders on June 2 and again on June 24 and he refused both times. He asked for religious accommodation but was denied. An official reprimand was placed in his file and he was suspended without pay for two days.

After the suspension, he was told he’d receive further discipline if he didn’t watch the video. He began to expect he will probably lose his job over the ordeal.

Fuck him.  The SSA doesn't need jesus freak asswipes like this.

The Botswana government tweeted Tuesday morning that Steven Anderson, a preacher from the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona, had been declared “a prohibited immigrant” and as such was being deported from the southern African country.

Botswanan immigration officers reportedly detained Anderson following an interview with national radio station Gabz FM in the capital Gaborone. During the interview, Anderson stated that he thinks the government should be killing homosexuals and that people who commit adultery should be stoned to death.

Like Katy Perry, I broke up with the conservative evangelical project

I don’t know the details of Perry’s breakup with political conservatism, but I spent over 20 years as an evangelical pastor, and the more deeply I engaged with the life and teaching of Jesus at the heart of my faith, the less enamored I became with the political project to which evangelicalism was giving its soul. I felt increasingly out of sync with an evangelical community more concerned with conservative politics than the compassion of Christ.

How else do we explain why nearly 80 percent of white evangelicals currently embrace the candidacy of Donald Trump, whose way of life and values could not be more opposite to their own? How else can we explain their visceral disgust with Hillary Clinton who, whatever her flaws, is a committed Methodist Christian who grew up in Sunday school, started out as a young Republican, and was drawn into social justice concerns through the influence of a youth pastor?
