Yeah.... but like the Vikings landing in Canada we did little more than leave a few artifacts around.  You can bet the Chinese will be building factories or something.
The moon landings seem hokey.  If we really made several trips to to moon why would we simply abandon all of that infrastructure instead of continuing to develop it?  Can you imagine where we would be if we had continued down that path?  So for that reason I'm calling BS on the moon landings.  And even in the highly unlikely event they actually occurred they were of no real lasting value.

China is supposedly going to make some attempts to go to the moon.  I wonder what their results will be?  Imagine that they make it round trip but their astronauts break out in horrible tumors from space radiation from being on the moon.  How will we explain that it didn't happen to our astronauts decades ago?  Trump will be busy claiming that it's fake news.

Our understanding of the formation of the moon, and first 50 million years in the history of solar system and the earth derive largely from the moon rocks we brought back.  But we can do all those without sending men there.

However, we didn't do anything because there was no possible economic justifications for doing anything more. It was a national prestige project for which money was no object. But the prestige was gained and the cost of Vietnam needs to be paid. Hence the loss of continued interest.

Not the craziest things you've ever demonstrated belief in.  But not far from it.

People are hoodwinked all the time, especially if they want to believe in the scam.  Maybe you will live long enough to see some actual results?  I doubt if I will.

You are such a fucking idiot. It's not about anyone here who "want to believe in the scam". What about entire nations of scientists in places like China and the former USSR? These people have the same access to data you have (and still more that you don't have) and also have enormous incentive to show that the US faked the moon landing. But there is nothing at all from that quarter. Crickets. How do you reconcile that with your idiotic conspiracy theory?

Quote:So why does the fucknut currently squatting in the Obamas’ house want to go to the moon? Join us in speculation:
  • He wants to add “First President to send men to the moon” to his unrivaled list of many, many, great accomplishments, really, so much more than any other president. Winning bigly!

  • Someone told him he can find clean Space Coal on the moon.

  • Because that sweet sweet Space Pussy ain’t gonna grab itself.

  • The moon is outside of Mueller’s jurisdiction.

  • Ivanka is about to launch a line of cheap moon rocket parts made in China.

  • Putin told him to.

Kidding aside, I feel as if this "to the moon again - and then mars" business is getting old.  We meant it once upon a time, and what that effort showed us was that you don;t get there unless you mean it.  This will be the third consecutive administration to mouth such a policy, and if the last two are any indication..this will be the third consecutive administration to chronically underfund it's objectives.  We've been "going back to the moon" for nigh on fifteen years now, not that anyone could tell...what with having to hitch rides into orbit like common space bums.

I swear 45 sees himself as JFK or Reagan, but the truth is that fuckface is Nixon on meth.

This is simply more bullshit to act as a distraction. NASA wants the funding sure, but under this administration really? The party that guts funding for everything, wants to sell our government to billionaires?  The same administration that is going to explode the debt, the same party that for decades has made the global weapons industry rich.

45 is like a mafia don, if he gives you a hug and kiss, bend over, and expect cement shoes.

Why would those countries discredit the US's claims?  It's to all of their benefits to support the lie because they all have their own lies that need supporting.  It's a "gentlemen's agreement".

As I said before, maybe you will see the actual results in a few years.  Right now we have to hitchhike to the space station.

Why would those countries discredit the US's claims?

Because it would be the embarrassment to end all embarrassments - far worse even then electing Donald Trump as president. The standing of the US would take a tremendous hit and would probably never recover. The country would no longer be considered a world leader. The former USSR and China would no longer be in our shadow. Those countries would be able to step up and take a position of greater prominence on the world stage.

That's why.

Politicians are members of a clique.  They all tend to support each others' lies so that their own lies won't get exposed.  As I said, you might live to see reality if China does try to send men to the moon.  Chances are they will do it before we do since Trump and the Repubs are cutting the budget and federal revenues.

If we have already been there then we have all of the blueprints needed for an easy update using today's technology.  So we should be able to build all of the equipment needed without any hassles and be on the moon within 730 days if we start this Monday.  Even you could run such a program if you had the authority and money.

What use are old blueprints, we know how to make rockets.
