There is a list of just 10. You can add to that list Pastor Tom Brock, Senator Roy Ashburn (who voted heavily against gay rights), and Ken Mehlman, the campaign manager behind Bush's re-election as well as many anti-gay legislation.

An article by "The Week" was an interesting read, not just because it highlighted the trend, but because it also referenced a psychology paper which links homophobia to homosexual arousal. The study behind the paper found that out of two groups of men (homophobic & non-homophobic), the only group that "showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli" was the homophobic group.

Correct me if I am mistaken, that study had approx. 70 participants? And then add on 10 or so public figures who spoke out against homosexuality, for probably no other reason than they thought it would help provide job security, who got caught being gay.

And we all get painted with that same brush? All of us? Sounds bigoted or prejudicial statement being made there.

I can see many reasons that study could have been skewed.

If I was shown gay porn I would close my eyes and imagine pussy to get that offensive image out of my head. We have no way of determining if that or something simular was happening. Also we have no idea who they chose to participate in that study. For all I know they could have done it in San Francisco and gay folks were just claiming to be hetero and disliking gays in order to purposefully skew the results to bolster their claims hetrosexual men who announce their dislike of gays must be gay themselves.


I am not claiming something like this DID happen, I'm saying it may have so I just take your study with a grain of salt and hold in question it's validity.

Hardy 'proof' that a "surprising number" of folks with sexual prejudice are gay themselves. Unless a handful constitutes a 'surprising number' to you.
